Info and Opinions on a car GPS

I need to get me a GPS for a car.
I wanna go with a Garmin but not sure which one. Decent price but nothing ridiculous.

Anyone have any opinions on a quality GPS that they have and like or want to recommend.
I searched around in some threads here and also review sites but i wondered if any fellow Newschoolers had something sweet they'd like to let me know about

i just buy and return whenever I'm going on a road trip. It seems like even the units they sell as new are refurbished as there is a recent history when you turn them on the first time. Get one from walmart, try it out for a week and see if you use it as much as you thought.

my parents and my brother each have garmin nuvis.

my parents have the nicest one available a few months ago, and my brother has a low end one from christmas.

they all love them and have had no issues, and use them all the time.

Thanks a lot guys, kinda wondering if they are worth the extra bang for the buck or just get the basic ones

depends on your use:

my brother only uses his a few times a month, and his works great for that.

my mom spends 4 or 5 days a week living on the road, so it was a no brainer for her to get the more feature ridden model.

we have a Magellan somepieceofshit

it is litterally the worst thing that has happened to car trips.
it has started more fights between my parents than anything else.
i dont know how we still have it, i would have though my mom would throw it out the window or smash it to tiny pieces
