Does turf jibbing damage skis?

im getting new skis and am wondering if skiing on turf will damage them.+k for help

it's not good for them, I wouldn't use brand new skis on turf, use old ones if you have them. It's not the turf you need to worry about necessarily (although that's not great for it either) it's the dirt and rocks that tend to be around when turf skiing.

the Liberty University one? It should be fine, they'll take better care of the turf than in the backyard and there shouldn't be any dirt or rocks on the snowflex.

liberty snowflex is only 5 or 7 dollars an hour depending on when you go. i live like an hour away and will be there all the time this summer

yeah i should be up there a bit this summer definitly will contact some nsers when i do but like i said i REALLY hope xanadu opens by next summers seeing a it definitly wont this summer

Everyone rides snowflex or similar here in the UK and it's fine if your not constantly using your ski's on it. The heat that is generated can sometimes begin to melt the glue that holds the ski together if your on it non-stop. Also, that stuff rips you to shreds if you have exposed flesh.

the "glue" that holds your skis together is called epoxy, a thermoset, and does not melt. it degrades over time. heat will somewhat soften epoxy, but it certainly will not melt it.
