I wondered if you could put an insert/plate on your skis so that you could take a binding off one pair of ski and put them on another pair. This would eliminate the need to buy more than one binding. Does that make sense?
Line tried it with their Reactor bindings a few years back, but unfortunately it failed pretty hard. It's definitely possible to do, but the added weight/height from a universal mounting plate would be semi-serious issues, especially when people already complain about the weight of bindings, and the use of lifters on them.
but seriously it could work but do it at your own risk, most shops will not drill these for you and i wouldnt be surprised if this resulted in pull outs
