First of all, I want to start out by saying INJURIES SUCK!! As a fellow dedicated member on NS I'll be completely honest, when people would state their season injuries I never really gave a damn. Being a three sport athlete I thought i could never get hurt. Never being badly injured before I didn't even realize the extent of it. Now, after sitting out for the past month it's really starting kick me in the ass. Having dislocated my shoulder multiple times and AC and labral tears I'm lucky my orthopedic surgeon said that i didn't need surgery. Just sucks getting so hyped up for the season. All the exercises and time put into it. And having your season cut short by more than half. And the worst part is, killing it. just absolutely ripping and not having reached your peak potential and this shit happens. All your friends around you are stomping and all you can do is be happy for them.
I guess what I'm trying to say is be careful, listen to your body. I would ski from open to close (which is about 12 hours here in the midwest) and no matter how tired i was i would keep on skiing with the exception of bathroom breaks and not even eating sometimes, call me stupid, i was. I guess my body was getting pretty tired and then WHAM!! Next thing you know your in the ER and your in a sling for God knows how long. Yeah you guys might say shit like "who gives a fuck" or "cool story hansel." See that's the same mentality i had before sustaing this curse of an inury and it made me open my eyes to the injured people here. So take it easy on the slopes, and NEVER push yourself when your body clearly isn't ready. And to all the injured souls on NS stay chill and keep your stoke up for the summer and for people that can't afford the summer camps like myself, hey keep your hopes up and make like a backyard set-up. And I'm sorry if I completely wasted 5 minutes of your time reading this, call me what you want. Not being able to ski for the past couple of weeks with this uber sunny weather conditions can make a person go kinda crazy. Good Luck everyone.
