who do you think is going to win the upcoming championship title in UFC 111? GSP? or Dan Hardy? perosonally i think gsp will win. who's ur favorite fight? mine is anderson silva. UFC talk right here, talk about anything. how many of you are going to watch ufc 111? i know i am and i got free to air satillite so i get it for free
Ye will be but he isn't going to steamroll anyone at MW and guys like Chael Sonnen, Yushin Okami, Vitor Belfort, and Anderson Silva will give him a lot of trouble and he may not beat guys like them. Sonnen and Okami being big powerful wrestlers that cut from like 220 probably and then Belfort who has some of the fastest most powerful hands in all of MMA, and Anderson who is, well, Anderson.
I think GSP could give Okami a definite run for his money. You can't cut that much weight and still have the same strength. He's increasing his weight, therefore gaining strength. These guys are cutting and therefore losing strength. He's gonna be a lot better off than them.
really? cus i was watching an interview not too long ago and he was saying that it wasn't true, that he didn't want to move up to 185 cus he had too many friends and training partners in that weight class
That's what he said but fact is if that's the case why is he gaining muscle?
Also... who is left for him to fight at WW that he hasn't beaten? Kos and Paulo Thiago and after that it is all rematches... And as a Jon Fitch fan I really don't want to see Fitch vs GSP II, Alves vs GSP II, or GSP versus anyone else.
koscheck is a fuckin retard, this guy stands in the middle of the bell centre, talks shit about the habs, and then says he will kick GSP's ass. this guy has a death wish
Koscheck does that everywhere just to get under peoples skin. He did it to Daley too which is why Daley freaked out like a little thug and suckerpunched Kos.
Diego will probably beat Hathaway but I hope Hathaway pulls it out.
Lil Nog WILL beat Brilz by KO or TKO late in the first
Miller should beat Bisping by a choke (his son is super sick and in the hospital and his wife just had a miscarriage... dude is pissed off and Bisping said pre-fight that "I am going to kill him")
i was disappointed in the fights tonight.... for all the hype, and how much they hate each other, i thought rampage v. rashad would have been a way better, faster paced fight.
the best fight of the night (in my opinion) was melvin...? the black dude with blonde-ish hair. i've watched him fight a few times, and that dude kicks ass.
didn't search, but is there a ufc cult? if not, there should be.
Agreed on that. Guilliard always seems to do well against the lower ranks and then just raped by the guys in the top 15 or so.
Lil Nog looked like garbage tonight... wonder when Ed Soares is going to come out with the usual "he had staph" excuse for his performance tonight.
And Todd Duffee needs to work on his cardio. Sure, he has pretty to look at muscles... but that don't mean shit when you gas out and then get caught by a guy with the chin of Mark Hunt that you couldn't put away because you ran out of gas.
Rogen kept talking about how there was a good chance that duffee had a broken hand which i wouldn't be surprised about. I was very disappointed that he wasn't doing any leg kicks though he kept going for the same 1-2 combination that was working but didn't seem to have that dramatic of an affect. I lol'ed so fucking hard when he got knocked out though
Duffee almost definitely has a broken right hand from those uppercuts. Very rare for a guy to throw that many hard ones that connect and not get a broken hand with those MMA grappling gloves.
Russow his opponent though came into that fight with a broken wrist though apparently. More power to Russow.
-Franklin by TKO late in the 2nd or middle of the 3rd
-Barry by 2nd round TKO though I hope Cro Cop gets the win somehow
-Paulo Thiago by TKO or sub in the 3rd or UD.
-Rothwell, SD
-Condit vs MacDonald I can't pick honestly
-Griffin by UD
-Wiman by UD
-Miranda by TKO in the 3rd
-Wilks by UD
-Funch by TKO in the 2nd
-Lennox by TKO in the 1st

Kinda torn on the Barry vs Cro Cop fight. I love Cro Cop and he was the guy that got me following MMA really closely. But, if Cro Cop has to pass the torch to a young gun HW I can't think of a better person than Barry for him to give that torch to.
I got to have lunch and dinner with Rich Franklin a year ago and work out with him some and he said he hates having to go to the UFC events. He is sitting RIGHT on the apron to the cage and he literally said "You can't see and if you watch the monitors it kinda sucks too because you don't feel like you are there."
I still want to go to a UFC event though. Would be sick. I DID however get to see a Pride event in Japan in the GIANT stadium's they used. THAT was nuts.
I miss the PrideFC organization. Epic entrances, awesome ruleset (no elbows, soccerkicks and stomps to the head of a grounded opponent allowed)... Also, Pride being in giant arenas made the crowd HUGE (think Manny Pacquiao's last fight at Cowboy Stadium. All their events were like that)
It's sad how Pride ended, how the Yazuka connection was crucified by the media and was never given a chance to recover. But at the same time, the UFC wouldn't be where it is today if Pride hadn't collapsed and been bought out by the UFC. Shogun, Anderson Silva, Nogueria, Rampage, etc...
What is a real shame is how the UFC won't co-promote. I know it's a business and all, but it is a sport first, unfortunately Dana/Fertitta's obviously don't see it that way.
Anyway. I am stoked for 115, but not in town for it. I'm glad Tito got injured, I didn't want to see a Liddell-Ortiz 3 as the main event. Barry - Cro-cop will be good, though I think Cop's lagging behind the modern era of fighters (remember the punishment from JDS?). Thiago-Kampmann will be the fight I'm most looking forward to though.
Oh, and the 30 minute sellout thing was complete bullshit, it never even got to the public release, it was sold within 30 mins of the pre-release to UFC Fight Club members (like, $80 for membership) and basically local ticket dealers and other people picked up a membership and sold the ticks on at like 3x the original price.
Yeah, CC is lagging behind and JDS pounded him but one thing to think about. CC may have looked bad against JDS... but he is the ONLY man to leave the 1st round in a fight against the Brazilian monster.
I hope CC comes in and throws that patent LHK. He said that up until just recently his knee has been giving him troubles (the one that he blew out around 4 years ago and had surgery on) and it has been the first training camp in a long time that he has been able to throw a LHK at full power during training. If he throws that and lands it I might cream myself.
