Carrying a knife advice plz

ok, a little background, in the sumer my friends and i go night riding around Boston and last summer i got into some sketchy stuff (like crack heads asking us for shit and a friend of a friend got jumped) and i just got a little uncomfortable with the whole thing and want something that i can protect myself with. In Boston the legal blade limit is 2.5 inches, witch is not very intimidating or whatever and I guess I'm just looking for any advice on what should be done, thanks a ton and +K for help.

Also switchblades are illegal along with double edged and anything spring assisted.

seriously dude, the safest thing for you would be a self-defense whistle!!

just whistle when you're in trouble and hope that the coppers can hear you!

If you carry a knife (in the senario you're in), you're carrying it with the intention of stabbing someone (its BS if you think you're gonna pull it and they'll run away). So think of the consequences.

Go with mace. It'll fuck someone up and you wont be going to jail.

Better shit to use for protection. I'm all for knives but if youre going to carry it for protection you better damn well be ready to kill with it and know how to use it. Get pepper spray instead because youre not ready for that.

yep.

NEVER carry a knife/gun/whatever unless you are fully prepared to actually use it. which in your case sounds like you are not. sounds like its something to pull if shit goes bad to intimidate but not to actually use. it can and will be pulled against you. your best bet would be to  not carry anything and stay away from skectch parts of the city. or start working out and be ready to fight. or just ride away. yo are on a bike and most likely can get away from any confrontation unless it involves a car.

If you don't want to get arrested for carrying a blade thats too long get one of these automatic ice pick things. Its this thing thats about the size of a pen. When you press the button on the side, a 3.5 inch spike pops out of the top. This thing would be hella intimidating and probably not illegal.

But to be real, Dont get a knife unless you are ready to use it. Because if some guy calls your bluff and you arent ready to get down than your gonna be in a world of trouble.

I carried a knife until a cop took it. If you're worried about knife laws, you shouldn't be having a knife, simple as that. Quite a few of my friends have been jumped, and when there's multiple attackers, a knife isn't going to do shit.
