Gorillaz "Plastic Beach"

Searchbarred, didn't come up with anything.

So, what do you think of the new album? Personally, I haven't been a fan of Gorillaz with the exception of a select few tracks, but Plastic Beach really got to me. Might take a couple of times of listening through, but it has some of the best beats and backgrounds I've ever heard. Definitely seeing a SHITLOAD of remixes on the way. In my humble opinion, nothing has gotten me going like the second half of "Empire Ants". Ever. It's one pure musical pengasm ("An orgasm so good, that you have to add the word "penguin" to it" - Random NS member circa ???) all the way through.

I wasn't even aware that this had been released yet. Thanks a lot brother. In the past I have enjoyed the Gorillaz, but sometimes they can dissapoint. I will definitely bechecking out this record. Thanks again for the heads up.

I reccomend everyone listen to the ENTIRE album before deciding whether they like it or not, the first little bit didn't do it for me, but I found it picked up near the end. DL link it DEFINITELY worthy of a separate thread.

YES!
Empire of Ants is amazing. The transition in the middle of the song is soooo goooood.
You can listen to it over and over and you smile everytime.

So glad this album has been leaked.

Empire ants has one of the sickest/smoothest transitions of any song I know...
Superfast Jellyfish and Glitter Freeze are also some of my favorites.

I laughed out loud when I heard Snoop on the second track.

Not a huge Gorillaz fan, but I gave it a listen and liked it.  As an album its amazing.  They really got that whole plastic beach theme going on and when I finished listening, I was like damn thats a clear musical experience...not just a collection of songs.

Orchestral opening and some orchestral interludes gave it an awesome feel.  I really saw this album as cool hip hop/electronic/unique beats with people doing a mix of singing/talking/rapping over them.  It doesn't follow that standard verse - hook -verse - hook - verse  structure which is nice.

My favorite tracks were the rap laden ones naturally, the two mos def ones and white flag

I dunno.. I can't really say I'm a huge fan of this album. It's a LOT different than I expected. In a bad way. Some Kind Of Nature is pretty good though.

It is one of the worlds greatest albums. I cant stop listening to it. Its magical. "On Melancholy Hill" and "Broken" are by far my favorites.

Dude all of the gorillaz are good... i like there music and i totally dig the new album. There music vids are pretty ill to. And concerts are insane, they all hide behind a curtain and have there animated character play and the two rappers show them selves! gorillaz are a classic band in general
