Gota figure it out by tomorrow. I ride pure park and im 6'1 190lbs i know theyre a far cry from eachother but they both sound awesome. i wish i could try them out first but i just dont have that opportunity right now cuz im geting a warrenty. plus i would kinda like to hear from people who have rode both.
I also really like how the lizzys sound, but I ski a lot of rails and I am not sure if I want to give up the agility of a thinner ski. But then I think of how fun lizzys would be on everything else. I can't decide. It sure doesn't help that the this is the last year I have the chance to pick up a pair.
Lizzies only come in 172, so you might be a bit too big for them. I'd say go with the ABangs if you're only skiing park anyways, they're perfect in the park.
lizzys: one of my favorite most fun skis ive ever skied, i like them on rails more than any other ski as well
only iffy on larger jumps i would imagine but i dont have large jumps to hit so ita all good
im 6'2" 170 ish
afterbangs: one of my least favorite skis ive ever skied
idk what it is about them maybe i need to spend more time on them but compared to anthems invaders my watchlifes urban punx they suck in my opinion, and ive seen a pair start to come apart pretty easily when theyre supposed to be super durable, however my lizzys have like im guessing 100 days on them since 08 over two owners and just have 3 edgecracks and thats it
so i would obviously get lizzys over a bangs (well id get almost any ski over a bangs, like masterminds, even tho ive never skied them)
also lizzys arent being made after this year and looks like lines keeping those shitty afterbangs tech for a while so you could always pick up a pair in the future but if you dont get lizzys you could miss out on the most fun ski and alot of peoples favorite ski
i ride abangs, and i love them, theyre a really well rounded park ski, not too stiff not too buttery, a little on the heavy side but who doesnt need a little swing weight? butttt im no longer a believer in the "increased durabilty" that line has been all about, i messed up the tip of one ski one a hippie killer. the lizzys are so much more playful and i respect someone who rides lizzys sooo much more. i would go with lizzys for sure.
Ok, take some advice from B-runge and me. GET LIZZYS! I am 5'10" 200 lbs and in no way are they "too sketchy" for me. I'd be willing to bet that most of the people who talk shit about them either havn't skied them or demoed them for a half a day. I've put in a season on mine (50 days or so) and nothing is wrong with them. I was told at my weight and my style of skiing (butters, jumps, not too many rails but when I do rails they are actually rails not boxes) that I would be lucky for them to last a season. Needless to say, the person who told me was wrong. Also, they are super fun all over the mountain, they carve really well and, of course, can handle pow very well.
p.s. As you are from MN, be prepared for a lot of comments about Lizzys if you get them. I have yet to go a day in MI without someone asking me about them.
tl;dr: get Lizzys, I would bet that you will regret it if you don't
Yes they can but the recommended is at -2 from center (not really a big difference) so I just went there. Great choice though, you'll have to tell us how you like them when you get them mounted up.
make sure you measure tip to tail. i just got a pair of lizzies and i was measuring
them out for the mount and the recommended point was -3.5 from true
center. a pretty big difference from what its supposed to be
Maybe anthems, Wider and more buttery like the lizzys but symmetrical like a-bangs. You can get them a little longer than the lizzys too, 178. It's the anthem's last season too
