New idea for how to vote on contests

What if instead of being able to give everyone a 1-10 rating, you were allowed to give out 1 ten, 1 nine 1 eight etc...
You wouldn't be able to vote one persons up, and if you made it so they had to use all ten of their votes or there vote didn't count I think it would be fair. Than the winner is the person with the most votes.
Just a thought...

It's a good system, but it would need the ability for users to change their votes (in case they voted someone a 10, and then later viewed an even better entry). I could also see the limitation of voting for only ten entries being problematic for certain contests.

Yea I was thinking this as well. With certain contests you would definitely need more than 10 votes.

Well you could have as many votes as there were entries potentially, and I like how they have been closing the entry time then having voting, so say for the joss contest there were 40 entries, they could give you a 40 votes. But I figure that would take way too long if you made it so you had to use every vote.

What if...
- You have "X" amount of days to summit an entry
- Entry period closes, voting begins for "X" amount of days
- Your only allowed to vote for one entry
- We tally the votes and top 3 entries win

i like that idea. also if we actually see who voted it might stop a lot of the cheating
