Replying to Learning to sew

i have sewed before but this is my first time in a long time. and i dont remember how to even put the thread through the needle.  The thread from the top of the machine comes down and goes through the needle but then where does the thread from the bottom go?

and then do i tie a knot once the thread is through the needle?


im in need of some big help

i searched google and nothing could really help me as to the directions were hard to follow for a noob
