Boot Question

go to the closest chop that sells them, try them on (it doesn't really matter what model you try on, they all fit pretty much the same), tell them you'll "think about it", go online and buy that EXACT same size (unless of course they don't fit properly, then find a different boot).

if you do go the route of going to a shop first please dont waste the boot fitters time. just ask for the boot in several sizes and determine what fits best for your self. i hate seeing people in shops wasting 1-2 hours of a bootfitters time when they have no intention of buying the boot at the shop

true, just measure your foot (they usually have a foot scale thing there) and ask for that size and the surrounding sizes (either a half size, a full size..or both up and down).

Agreed. Don't waste a boot-fitter's time.  Just ask to get sized.  But honestly, the upfront cost of a boot is one thing, paying for boot work/ski service is another.  Most any legit shop includes boot work with the price of the boot (it's why it's more expensive than online) and probably gives deals on adjusting/remounting your skis.  So let's say a boot is $50 cheaper online than in my shop and you bring your boot in for a heat mold ($40) and a re-mount ($40) and boot work (about $50 per hour).  If you would have bought your boot from my shop, the heat mold would have been free, a reduced rate on a re-mount, and a boot-fit guarantee for if/when fit problems happen down the road.

Just saying, it's worth checking into what your local shop does for you if you buy the boots from them instead of online.  If won't do anything (they're retarded) or if there's no shop around you whatsoever, then it's your only option and no one can gripe about it.

so true. ive worn the same nordica supercharger ignitions for 3 years now and if i ever have a problem i just take em to my shop and they fix it for free, no questions asked and no reciept necessary. hell, ive had them punched 3 different times on my ankles. that alone right there covers the extra cost, not to mention the heat molding and they fit perfectly.

agreed, its the same exct way we do it at the shop i work at, its so fuckin annoying when i get a guy come in and i spend over an hour with him trying on a bunch of boots, and then he just walks out and says he didnt find anything he liked. Which is complete bullshit. But yeah, we dont have a return on our boots, just a guranteed fit, free molding, and a reduced mount fee as well. SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL SHOPS!!

if you came into my shop and I fitted you, then you told me "alright thanks, bye" and then came back with a boot you got online because your having problems with it, well either i would over charge the hell out of you, discretely ruin your boot, or just laugh at you.

at my shop, we guarantee every boot fit. so that means if you have any problems, we will fix it for no charger.

I fit my brothers friend (who is 22) and put him in some tecnica agent 110s. it was the perfect fit, i shell fitted and everything and he even told me he was walking around his house in them and they felt great. well he went out to utah to ski, first time skiing in them. well little did he know that they had to break in and that they absolutely would hurt.
So the fucker called up the shop after a day of skiing the boots and said the he wanted us to pay for his rentals and that he wanted a refund. well we paid for his rentals and let him bring the boots back for his money back.
if he had just worn them in, he would be fine. but nooo, he had to make me look bad

Not to mention... SUPPORT YOUR FUCKING LOCAL SHOPS! They need your help now more than ever.

first of all, my shop doesnt sell full tilts
second, they make SOOOOOO much money its almost scary. they have a leasing program that about 9000 people are a part of. basically, at this point, every leased piece of gear has been paid for, so the 100-200 dollars a person is pure profit. not to mention the sales we make too...
