Ski Cross

So tomorrow i'm going to a ski cross race. I've never done one and i was wondering with which should I race because I have two pairs. Like which one is better or if doesn't change anything. It's between:

go with the K2, the Afterbang's extruded base will make it slower.

No I don't but the event is held at a shitty mountain near my home so I believe it will be full of gapers. It's not a huge competiton but the winner gets a pair of skis.

i wish i could win a pair of skis at my SX races
I'd go K2's, like someone said above afterbangs base makes it slower.
My tips for racing are focus on your start and stay in front, your rooster tail from the twins should help there
and rubbin' is racin', if you aint rubbin you aint racin!

i don't this kid, but i wouldn't say that. At the level small local cross races are at it shouldn't be too bad to just jump in and go
And OP, i bet you have some friends who race? with a similar BSL? i'd try to borrow some race skis, they are sooo much faster than twins

yep, pretty much. scope out the track b4 the race or else u probs will die. and use the k2's if you cant get race skis

be careful brah. SX is not something you just go into thinking it's no big deal, some people take it really seriously and will most likely travel from event to event because there are so few of them

i kind of agree with this, but that sounds a little discouraging
SX is super fun, some sick stuff for sure
like Goku said there are very few races, so there probably will be people who travel, but don't let this discourage you. Sure some of them will be super intense, but its not like they will try rorough you up.
From my experience, if you are just jumping in for fun the first time or two guys like that might whoop you ass down the course, but just have fun with it.

alright, let me clear it up, I am by no means trying to discourage you, chances are your going to have a bunch of fun and a great time, but there are going to be people that are there for one reason, to win, and when you line 4 guys up that all think they are going to be the winner and the fastest, shit will hit the fan. be careful and you will have a lot of fun

Yeah basically the story is, I'm a park skier and i'm going there with a friend, who is a park skier too. We were at my home mountain when we met a friend of mine and we were talking about the olympics. I said, if I could do one event, I would do the ski cross one. So the guy said there was one tomorrow at this other hill and we could win skis. So we don't have any experience in racing but I'm pretty sure we can do go. The ''jumps'' are really small and the track is really small. This mountain is full of gapers and I don't think that any racer is coming to this event. So I think we have good chances.

do you know who is running the event? is it your mountain or an organization like the USASA?

I don't think so cause it's in Canada. I think it's organized by NRJ a radio station.

So it went pretty well but it wasn't a competition format. It was more you against your friends and the person who had the most wins could won the skis. I didn't win but I had a great time, ski cross is one hell of a sport!

K2 skis but they weren't park skis more like an all araound ski and they look pretty small like 155-160. I look over the internet but I couldn't find a picture of them but they were gray hahaha it's all I can remember.
