Sportchek is sick

so my binding broke and i took my skis into sportchek to get new ones mounted. i got them back and they were rear mounted when they were previously center. so i took them back and he said he would mount them center free of charge for me. I specified true center. so basically i get them back and he hasn't changed anything and he said they were already mounted ( sugggested) center. this is fuckin wastin my season here. so yeah, super sick. cool story n shit.

ive seen some mounts come out of sports check that were 1 whole cm off from each ski.

no sarcasm, im super pissed, i cant ski with like 30cm more nose than tail, i cant believe they dont know what true as opposed to suggested center is.

my question is why would you ever bring your skis into sportchek to be mounted.

With places like that you havetobe way more specific. Nexttime just say "ski length divided by 2" cuz chances are they don't know what dead center is.. Why didn't you go to a more reliable shop?

I usually just draw a sharpie line on my skis no matter where I take them to indicate mounting point.

I work at sportchek, but I always make sure I know exactly what the customer wants before fucking with their skis/snowboard. Its too bad you had a bad experience, but I definitely wouldn't go back to sportchek again lol.

what is sportchek?

i always put tape on my skis showing where to mount. 1 simple step can save you a whole lot of aggravation.

Damn that sucks dude. Sportchek is not a good place to get ski stuff done. Every skier I know who works at sportchek doesn't even work in the ski department. They just sell shoes and clothes so they make more money. Nobody there wants to be working in the shop, they make way less.

At a ski shop they will have pro techs who don't care about selling stuff for commission and care about doing what you want on your skis.
