Moment Night Train Vs. Armada JJ

I am trying to decide between the night Train 171 or JJ 175 any recommendations? I heard the moment skis delaminate.  Has anyone heard about that? I am looking for a more powder specific but somewhat all mountain ski. I also considered hellbent, obsethed or Sidesatash's.

I am 5' 6" and will be skiing in Idaho at Brundage and surrounding ski resorts maybe a trip to targhee or Alta from time to time. I have a pair of Public Enemies for all mountain skis that are 174 in length which I love but I want to get a second pair and have something more powder specific.

Longer on the Night Trains. Think about Donner Parties, I have a pair and absolutely love them. Check my threads or the review section for my review.

i use my night trains for all mountain to. they charge all over the mountain and absolutely shred powder.

Are you skiing switch much at all? If not get a directional pow ski, they are much better if you're just skiing forwards(I''ve noticed tons of people here talking about skiing pow switch that never have, not aimed at you but just saying).  If you are going to be jibbing in pow then NTs of those two would be my choice, and if you are skiing forwards then 192 Lotus 138s=best pow ski ever for you.  You're for sure big enough, don't fear the length at all.  Just plain out the best feeling in powder you will have if you like surfyness.  If you'd rather ski traditional, 190 Bibbys could be a great choice(again, you're big enough.  I'm 173lbs and on 202s, skiing all conditions and terrain).

Bahahaha, not from what I've seen, just gonna call a bit of bs here. I have some chetlers and my buddy has night trains. He is always pissed off when we are anywhere but power because they are soo shitty anywhere else, especially when we get on a groomer to get to or from some pow.

I'm gonna call bs. I've ridden night trains and they were incredibly easy, much easier than my Donner Parties which are also pretty simple.

They're pretty easy all over the mountain. Donner Parties are reverse sidecut reverse camber

Well, generally, I determine a skis all mountain capability by how easily I can ride it on groomers, park etc. It's just kinda my shorthand way of saying "all mountain capabilities".

Night Trains have great all mountain capabilities compare to my Donner Parties, which have surprisingly good all mountain characteristics considering their size.

Haha yeah, my lazy ass just writes easy.

But I rode a friend's Night Trains at Beaver Creek on a pow day down some groomers. He was a little smaller than me so I stuck with my DPs in the pow, but the NTs were a welcome break on the groomers.

To the OP:

Donner Parties are made to sound much more powder specific than they really are. Because of this, Moment doesn't sell quite as many as their more "versatile" powder skis. The deal that I got mine through might present itself at the end of this season for this very reason. Moment had some extra stock, and they sold their leftovers for VERY cheap. I got mine for $375 brand new, straight from Moment.

^Yup, I can confirm this since they were my Night Trains.
They can ski almost anything because of the smaller turning radius which enables it to make tight turns, and it also has a good side cut so carving is not a problem.

The rocker is great for floating over stuff in general (whether its pow or branches) and they are an extremely light and well built ski. I highly recomend them!
