CARRABASSETT, Maine (NEWS CENTER) - After a night in
the snow and cold, Sugarloaf ski patrollers expect to rescue four
skiers lost on a mountain today.
Sugarloaf tells NEWS CENTER that four people - three skiers together
and a single - skied past the boundaries of a snowfield and got lost.
They got in touch with family members that they were lost and the family then called search and rescue.
Ski patrol went out at 6:00 PM to look for the skiers and made contact
over cell phone... but the snow and wind forced a suspension of the
overnight rescue efforts.
Ski patrol told the skiers to hunker down for the night.
At 5:00 AM, ski patrollers went back out on the mountain. We're told
they have regained voice contact via cell phone and should have the
skiers rescued presently.
-So these morons basically ski out of bounds, and somehow "don't" see the out of bounds signs.
-They think everything's okay since they had a cell phone which is going to make people believe that cell phones are all they need to do stupid shit like that.
-Waste lots of money and hours.
Come on, how can they not see out of bounds signs.
I feel for the patroller who had to go out at 5 AM.
