Skiing Switch

I can go down the hill switch fine and I can turn fine in switch but I can never go from switch to regular(forward). You guys got any tips to go from switch back into regular(forward)?

I just usually jump and spin 180 or if you can turn fine just butter around the other like 120 degrees or whatev

I usually lift one foot up. Or press my tail into the ground.

leaning back a little and to the side your more comf spinning helps for me.. but thats kinda liek buttering it so yeah.. or just do a 180, or just rotate through a hockey stop

i had trouble skiing switch at the beginning of the season, but i have it down now, and what i do is just carve one way really hard, and then just continue turning while leaning back slightly and your skis will just come around

either 180 out quick, or give a little edge and slide back around to prevent you from catching a tip

just look forward and do the fuckin 180

look over your comfortable shoulder and swing your arms in this direction to get the 180 around

bring both skis parallel as your stopping and just bring the tips infront

put your weight on your tails and just flick your tips around. coolest way for sure

although i dont know if this thread is serious

I can ski switch fine, buts the key to hitting jumps switch cause that just feels sketch to me.

stop leaning over your tips when you ski switch. keep your feet under you when your riding reg and switch. at all times for that matter.

same with me, the only things i can do on a jump switch is straight air and a 1 , is their a diff. technique when trying to pull off 3s and 5s switch?

Hey well when your skiing switch lean on you tips then tail quickly while 180 back to front sounds confusing but once you do it it comes to you like nothing.

haah im a ski patroller once a week and i was skiing switch down the bunnyhil really slowly and fell trying to swing back into regular. I definitely  felt like an idiot.

thats not as bad when i jumped off this little 4ft drop at they Canyons riding to the catwalk.. (the drop was landing on the catwalk) so i could then proceed on my merry way across the hill.

ofcourse i hit the catwalk DOUBLE EJECT to faceplant. my ego was soo bruised. (i was kinda hauling so i could continue down the catwalk) right under the lift too.

OP just really work on releasing your edges and just going with it. i dont know how to explain it any better than that, however once youve got the feeling down its super simple.

Ok thanks, whenever I try to do it now its a wierd feeling trying to switch around like that but ill try it a bunch and get it down on sunday, when ive tried it before i think i might have been going to slow also.

This past Sunday was my third time skiing after switching from snowboarding. I learned switch pretty well, but this thread helps alot. I think speed definitely helps. Also weight is so important. Just like skiing forwards if you are in the backseat you will have trouble turning, so if you are switch you have to keep the weight on the tails to turn. Like people said earlier, you just have to do it and it will come to you, once you figure it out, it isn't bad. It's just those times falling that make you look stupid, but getting them down and looking steezy makes up for it.

switch-hockey stop-regular. I usually hop 180 to switch and slide 180 to forwards, I have no idea why.

start by hockey stopping and turning around

then try to do a little 180 to bring yourself around

the sickest way to do it is too just whip your tips around real quick

this is kinda sketch but the only way i can hit that up without spinning in the air is to give em a little nose butter, and keep your eyes downhill don't focus on your stix
