So i picked up some ninthward mip's off a friend who detuned the edges. My park skis are detuned but these felt like i couldnt plant an edge do they need tuned or do i just need to get used to them because the nose is wider then im used too?

sharpen them edges, specially if you already have a detuned park ski

Yeah thats was i was thinking i usually just detune under foot but he detuned everything so im gunna sharpen the nose and tails.

Lol I detune the tip and tail on my all mtns so there's less of a chance of catching an edge while carving

.... how does one carve without catching an edge... that would be what carving is, turning with your edges.

If hes got park skis I assumed that he wanted these to be all mtn. You tend to carve when you ski fast. Actually catching an edge is a bit different than that. Thats more like useing your edge. I meant like when you catch your edge around the tip area when your transitioning from one edge to another. Like when your body is faceing the direction of your turn, and one ski is but the other ski is caught and not carving along with the other

that logic is retarded. you want a sharp tip so they can hook and dig into the snow starting the turn, sharp underfoot so you can hold the turn while being stable, and a sharp tale so you wont wash out at speed

i swear, NS's IQ has gone down so much its crazy

The underfoot has to be sharp for sure. Im not talking detuned like completely useless. Just not razor sharp.
