Canon to Nikon Adapter ring

I recently found an adapter so you can use Nikon lenses on Canon DSLRs. No longer are we stuck with just one set of lenses!

those are nothing new... just make sure that it will autofocus

why would you want to use nikon lenses if you have a canon?

I use all nikon glass on my 7d. Of course, I use my 7d mainly for video, so Nikon lenses for pictures would get tricky with no auto focus.

Don't waste $30 on an adapter. I have the adapter below on all of my nikon lenses, works great.

My 7d with a Nikon 135 2.8. I also have a 17 3.5, 35 2.0, 50 1.4, 35-85 2.8, all work great on the 7d for video.

Nikon lenses cannot communicate with a canon camera, so there's no way to have autofocus with nikon lenses on a canon camera.

whats the point? I can see for video, but if you already have all nikon glass you probably have a nikon body, so why would you buy a cannon body just for video so you can use your nikon glass on the body when you could just buy a nikon body with video capabilities and use your lenses for photos (w/ autofocus) and for video?

canon video mode in its HDSLRs is leaps and bounds ahead of Nikons. Autofocus sucks on DSLRs when filming, its one of the downfalls that comes with it, and its useless 90% of the time. If you aren't using autofocus anyways you can use whatever glass, and nikon usually has better quality glass and usually has manual aperture too. Canon lenses usually stop up and down when zooming in video mode, so its nice to leave the aperture at a fixed stop.

lots of nikon glass works a lot better than a lot of canon glass. Canon doesn't have a lens that can touch the performance of the 14-24 f2.8.

Lots of pros have them just for that lens - although I realize most people on newschoolers don't need to bother, I thought I would bring it up.
