Hello

Whats the happiest moment you have ever had in your skiing life? Mine was skiing a trail with about 3 feet of powder, and dropping a 10, 15 and 20 foot cliff all while listening to take a minute by K'Naan

Every moment of skiing is the happiest momment of skiing.

Unless of course there are rocks and it is raining and the park sucks, then its just an alright moment

Dude. I was so pumped for that moment, too. The cliff line i stomped was the single greatest moment of my life. In the recent hardships of my life: parents divorce, uncles death, etc, it just felt amazing to accomplish something i wanted to accomplish. I was in tears by the end of the line.

last year in about april i think it was, not exactly sure but it was the last week the hill was open and they got 50 cm over night. it was weird because in town people were golfing, and out at the hill there was powder to be had. anyway we got there early and i had un tracked from the very top lift all the way to the base. the first turn when you get that weightlessness feeling and then just freshies all the way down. so epic.

first day skiing out west. got 2 sick pow days in a row. i remember having a whole new perspective on the sport being from the ice coast with pretty much no powder ever.

i have a couple that come to mind.
One day there was about a foot or a foot and a half of fresh pow, and i was shredding really hard, it just felt like i skied so much better than i had before.
or
this season i got 3rd in a skiercross race. Last year i got fourth or fifth in like 5 races, i skied with a group of 3 other guys who were really good. This season i finally beat some of them and podiumed. I held a guy off all the way down the course, and it just felt awesome by the end

there was one day last year that still stands out. at the end of the day I dubbed it the best day ever, and I still believe that statement is true.

it was early march, most of the lines inbounds had filled in, and I was on the top of my game, knew what was good and what wasn't worth the time. we had around a foot of pow overnight on top of soft snow, which translates to a true pow day (aka - bottomless). On top of that - BLUEBIRD!

From first chair till about 2pm I skied fast and hard, hitting all the spots with friends, everyone was killing it, having a great time. The icing on the cake though, was for the last two hours of the day we went down to the park (which is usually a waste of time and effort) and checked to see if the big jump was good.

You see, our park only has one good jump, and it takes until some time in march for it to even get built. It got built a day or two before said day, and it looked good so I went and guinea pigged it, felt really good, so the session was on. first real jump session of the season, 3 of us, 2 hours, bluebird... best way to end a truly awesome inbounds pow day.



Actually - I just looked back at my ski journal from last year and the entry reads:

Day 59 - March 5 - best day of year. launch from top on Links new cliff band. backflips, lincolns, guinie big jump 540

at killington they had this rail that i was eating shit on all day in december, it was a down with a small flat out, everytime i went down i ate shit as soon as i got to the like foot of flat at the bottom, second to last run of that day i slid that rail cleanest ive ever slid a rail and i was so stoked

I can remember quite well the first day that I realized that cliffs, chutes, and tree lines were truly the best part of skiing. It finally made sense why every experienced skier chose that stuff over park. I went home, and watched every powder edit I could find, and for the first time it really hit me how awesome that shit was. Perhaps not my absolute happiest moment of skiing, because there are too many to recall, but I'll always remember it as a huge defining moment.

one day at mt bacholer 47 inch dump and the open up northwest terratory up late .. and i get second chair behind patrol... OMG...  but that was my fav pow day ive been in deeper dumps at hood but not as good snow...  but to say one momment is my favorte would kind be wrong.. any day skiing is a fuckin blast. even if im to sore to hit park  or im eating shit every where . just being up at the mtn a place i love with people i enjoy sharing something speical in my life with. words dont discribe.. i mean riding by your self is fun.  but for me skiing is better shared. i love skiing and then comming to the lodge sitting out side sharing a pitcher or two and smoking smokes. and just soaking it in.

first double cork i was fucking ecstatic.  One day at the end of  the 2008 season all my friends and I went out of bounds to this dope spot we found, built a big step up, and set up a grill and made hot dogs.  I learned rodeo 5's and misty 5's, had some dope food, and had a brew.  Such a fucking banger day.  Also winning a pair of skis in a rail jam with a 630 disaster on a flat down box, then talking to the owner of the ski company and getting a sponsorship.  Was pretty dope.

for me...traveling to the mountain is a major highlight...just seeing the mountain in the distance gives me chilllls(especaily with 5 feet of powder here in NY!)

and i also love just sitting down in the wooods and enjoying the peaceee.

I completely disagree. Skiing is a love-hate relationship, and thats what keeps people going back. Some days you're just 100% on it and having tons of fun, the next you can't stomp shit. Granted there are good times every day, but I feel its more of a love/hate thing, which is what makes it so damn addictive and keeps people coming back.

I was in Saratoga bowl at JH last year and hitting all kinds of small 5 foot rocks and stuff but just ripping (powder like no other btw) and at the bottom my dad points with his pole at this one drop, i just kept going and boosted the biggest cliff of my life so far, scared as hell in the air, but landed clean in pow.

i have a ton, but for sure the best day of last year was over spring break, the day after gaper day (april 2nd to be exact) it was my homies birthday that night, we were staying with his parents in a ski in ski out condo in breck, we got super trashed, walked around, went back to the hot tub, i got laid in the steam room by a girl from my school who was randomly staying there too, then the next we woke up to 15 inches of pow, we shredded shit hard until about one, the skies got completely sunny, everything was chewed up so we went to the park, it had just been finished grooming, the landings were soft, and we hot lapped that bitch for the next 3 hours. such an epic ass day and night.

It was today, on of the rare day of my life where I could really enjoyed pow. I was smiling all day long and me and my friend found an incredible spot with many drops and more snow than anywhere else. It was my best skiing day of the season.
