Ladies snowboard slalom (spoilers)

Yes I know this is a ski website but snowboarding is cool aswell.

Nicolien Sauerbreij just won the 100th Dutch Winterolympic medal and also the first ever Dutch medal outside (speed)skating.

I was so rooting for her she had been doing so well this season and now she's finnaly got the gold.
0.02 s. behind after the first run but she managed to fight back and win by 0.27 s.

being .02 off is terrible. i would never want to compete in a sport where the margin is that close. thats like a a little poof of wind in the wrong direction and you lose.

i am not sure if you made anything near a valid point. EVERY sport can have close margins, whether its points, millisecs, buttsecs or whatever

i wasnt trying to make a point, its really more of an observation. wasnt trying to prove anything cause really, why would i need to prove anything with that statement? no one was debating me except you now...

EVERY sport has close margins but not EVERY sport is timed. in lets say, a skiing event - if the scores differ by like 1 point its because the rider did something that was worth giving the 1 point difference. timed events are different because theyre timed. two riders can ski the same course with the same speed and the same skis but if one had a little push of wind... he would win.

so two skiers have the exact same pipe run, same tricks, same grabs, same style, same height. but one gets pushed a little by the wind and loses a little control and ends up gettin 0.01 points less than the winner.

judged sports have issues too, think about that. imagine every judge is subjective, oh wait....

yeah the only sport I can think of in the winter Olympics that isn't subjective to the weather or judging is speedskating and hockey

Yeah but in speedskating you do have the ice, which can become a failure (lol vancouver 2010)

You can never get 100% the exact same conditions for every athlete.
