For those who have skied BOTH, what are your impressions? I'm looking at picking up either last years invaders or this years afterbangs, leaning towards the 'bangs. Which one is lighter, which one has more pop, etc.
I'm looking for a good, inexpensive park specific ski and I've narrowed it down to these two.Im leaning towards the 'bangs because I'm trying to get more into park skiing and these seem to have more pop and stability, better for a novice park skier I think. Online (no tax and free shipping), Invaders are $189 and Afterbangs are $285.
They chip easily, but I don't really care too much. They are going to be my cheap improve-my-park-skiing ski, and anything is going to take some abuse and bails while I learn.
I need something pretty light with great pop. Again, 5'11 and 190 lbs. Anyone think the 177s will be too small center mounted? I ski 178 scratch bcs mounted at the standard line, and they are pretty much the perfect size.
my 'bangs bases are complete shit.
I have the Afterbangs and my friend has the Invaders.
IMO If i could chose again I would probably go with the Invaders, because they are so much lighter and more buttery. Although, If you want a solid ski that has a little bit of weight, you should go with the Afterbangs.
Which would you say is better for a park novice looking to get into more jibbing and jumps (nothing too big)?
Hey guys, I just picked up a pair of 177 Afterbangs for $278 shipped, hopefully they will work out for me! I figured since I'm solid (5'11 and 190 lbs), a little extra weight on the 'bangs won't be too bad, and the added stability, pop, and wideness might be good for me.
Now.. I just need to get acquainted to those damn graphics... lol
