360 help please.

Ok, so I recently ALMOST landed my first 360 (as in landed almost finishing the spin and just fell over a little). But here is the problem. I tried it 2 more times, and wiped out on both. You know how when you go off the jump, your body is at an incline facing up diagonally?? Well, after I finish the spin, my body is still in that incline and I fall because of that, landing on the back of my skis or my ass.... So, how can I make sure I land straight?? Note: I lead with my head, I know that much.... So can anyone help me out here? Thanks a lot....

Use the search bar, but lean forwards so you feel your shins leaning against the front of your boots.

you should be popping off the lip more, pushing yourself up and forward a bit. Then spin. It sounds like you're spinning off the lip.

Actually, my very first 360 I almost landed was spinning off the lip. So the 2 I wiped out on I didn't do that. And I do pop.... A LOT!! xD I like the leaning forward so shin touches tip. Anything else? Thx.

oh i actually know the answer to this
i had this same problem
what you need to do is look DOWN at youre landing dont just turn youre head around looking in the air
and like the saying gos where the head gos the body will follow so if ur looking down at the landing youre body is proly gunna angle properly to it
same as for back flip you look back

Throw your spin parallel to the landing/ground, not to the takeoff. That way your spin will be set less backseat so you will land less backseat.

Also it sounds sketchy to try and grab before you get the rotation down but try to safety grab, It keeps you centered and balled up so your actually in a good position too spin.

Well, for the backflip part, I already done that lol.... I find 360 harder. The thing is, I was doing it on like a 25-30 foot jump, so I can barely finish the spin.... I don't got the balls to do it on a bigger jump yet. Still 15, only started tricks this year.

well when i first started threes id just throw mysef and spin and just hope that somehow id spin perfect and on the landing. then my friends watched me and noticed that i threw myself over wayyy to early and therefore id either catch my edge or not spin enough. and spot ur jump. this helps you spin faster when youre in the air and u can land cleaner. dont be surprised if you dont get it at first but eventually it'll be easier.

My local mountain is really small and the biggest jump is only 25-30 feet. For the smaller 15 foot jumps i can get a 360 around on those you may need to just spin faster, pop a bit harder, and lean forward

i just learned by jumping around my house.  also flex your abs so you spin all at once, not feet are straight and head and shoulders are not all the way around

i used to land backseat all the time, but then i started popping up real high and tucking my knees into my chest, just like you would to reach a grab.  It keeps you leaning forward, plus adds a little steeze factor.

pop, then spin...don't spin off the lip

people will say to tuck your legs up and grab, but you're probably not gonna do that the first few times, so just focus on spotting your landing the whole way in and keeping your shins pressed up against the front of your boots

if you just practice for a few hours you'll have them down in no time

most of my friends learned 3s on 5-10 foot jumps, it helped them get the spin and technique down before doing 25-30 foot jumps because the rotation has to be gauged for those so if you can spin it faster its alot easier to slow it down

like every one else has said look for your landing, i used to be really bad at this i've gotten better. but now i am starting to super cork the last 90 degrees of my spins so i eat shit almost every time..

Ready This answer is the simplest and Easiest Way to fix Landing Back seat when learning a new trick.

When you cork you dip your head into your shoulder. (If you spin right, left ear to left shoulder)

the same applies for if you want to lean forward for a Bio. So if your in the air leaning to far back off axis lean your head sideways to your forward shoulder. This will cause your shoulder to drop and your momentum/weight drop into the direction your head is leaning.

Just be sure you dont lean your head in and over commit. This will cause you to have that forward cork. you want just enough to get you in a straight line of axis.

i learned a 3 on like a 5 foot backyard kicker into soft snow

i recommend that, spinning fast isn't an issue really but that's the way with the fewest consequences

First try to spin really fast like for a day or two on every jump u see just spin really fast (this will not make u land a three, just to make you get used to spinning fast might get you a couple of 270's and probably 1 three) then spin in between the really fast spin and the spin speed for a one, then once you get to a 180 in the air turn your head in the direction that you are spinning and your body will follow

Spin in between the really fast spin... I have no idea what your post is trying to tell him. A 270=falling? Last time I did a 270 off a jump, it didnt end up too good.?

I'm old school, but I wouldn't work on grabs until you can control your axis.  That's just me.  To stay vertical, try to keep your eyes up and don't spot the ground until you are at 270.  Basically you are corking straight back and you will never land a 3 that way unless you lean way back and D-Spin.  I have always taught people to 3 the same way, but it has always worked.  Never tried over the internet though. 

When you extend for your pop, do a big slow exhale which will smooth out your pop.  Rotate from your shoulders keeping your eyes and chin up.  Try to glimpse an object or point that would be level with your eyes as you are at about 180.  When you get to 270, drop your chin and spot the landing.

yeah you just gotta give it a bit more pop and make sure you keep your back straight and spot the landing. the rest should just flow naturally. most importantly, keep at it. my first season in the park i couldnt get the 360 for shit, but i kept at it and now i have them on lock. Hope it helps

some people say safety grab, but i prefer to try a japan or a mute because it means that your reaching across your body and going with the spin. with safety your going down to you leg and it can feel unnatural almost like your working against yourself

What i think for learning spins is do it out of a quarterpipe onto a deck, that way  you are not moving orizontally very fast and you wont catch an edge and die, your feet should do the slightest pizza on the lip so you are throwing off of your edge, it gives you ALL of your rotation, look to the side as far as you can for a landing, as soon as you see it, open up like a mother fucker! done...

you don't need a thirty foot jump to do a 360.. if you said you can barley get it around on a jump that size you need to set your spin a lot harder. or did i misunderstand something? it's 2:30 so that is possible..
Like other people have said, don't set your spin with the angle of the jump, also you may want to try it off a ledge or something so you'll be less likely to be backseat. ha ha good luck.

i haven't read any of this thread yet but how i learned a 3 was just to kind of throw yourself to the spin as ur getting off and turn your head the way you wanna spin because your bodys gonna follow your head- have ur head in a neutral position, kind of looking at ur armpit more so your body angled the right way to hit the landing, get enough air to get the spin in the air and spot ur landing and just stomp that ish

ok so im sure you already have the answer to this...but this is what helped me:

1. come in with a wide stance.
2. look at the lip/take off of jump
3. pre-spin depending on how big the jump is. if it is somewhat small then you should have your shoulders facing about 90 degrees to the left or right
4. make sure you watch the lip even though your shoulders are turned.
5. when you pop look around your shoulders with your headand continue your shoulder turn.
6. lift up your legs as you pop, and keep your core/abs tight and flex the ankles (so your skis will follow)
7. make sure you are still looking somewhat down (not so much that it will make you flip) but enough to see where you are going to land.
8. extend legs, spot landing, ride away

so feel free to correct me if you think something is wrong but this is what i go through or what helps me

oh and by pre spin i mean that it is one continuous motion (i hope that is obvious) not like start 90 degrees one way, but one fluid motion so you should already be 90 degrees with your shoulders coming off the lip
