where do you usually buy your equipment (skis and boots)?

at your local ski shop, the internet, or at your hill/mountain store? or some place else?

My local ski shop.  I like to see what I'm buying first, so I rarely buy stuff online, and the guys at the ski shop are way more knowledgable than at the the little chalet shop at the hill.

Sadly the only ski shops around here have an extremely limited selection of skis, so I generally buy off NS or ski swap.

usually local. ski swaps, regional forums, and just knowing a lot of people goes a long way. i don't think i have ever bought a brand new pair of skis for myself, all used.
