Tell me where to ski

My dads a son of a bitch and going to alaska next week to ski at aleyska.... bastard..

anyway he wants to plan a 3-4 day trip to ski wherever in the west.

so, where can i go to get the gnarliest terrain, and the deepest pow?

decide for me i guess, midwest kid dont know where to ski out thar in them big maounteeens!

go to mammoth... incredible steep terrain, theyve been getting absolutey pounded, and even when they dont have fresh, theyre park is top notch... you cant lose.

powder mountain, UT has some cat skiing. Pretty neat mountain and it doesnt get really crowded at all

big cottonwood, little cottonwood, I also heard Taos is having a killer season. maybe jackson hole? never been there but heard good things. If it were me i'd go to slc though. so much terrain in one area, its amazing if you get snow.

this site should end these threads bestsnow.net tells just about anything you want to know, average per month, percent of days with over 6 in. and anything else you need to know about a resorts snowfall from east to west

but in the end if your booking your trip in advance it just the luck of the draw weather or not you will get pow but you can def make your chances better by going to certain spots.

ah yeah, mammoth is too pricey though. but keystones cat skiing is $5! close to free as you can get!

I'd go breck and keystone.... stay in breck, the town is a lot better.  Plus you can make a trip to vail or copper too. Change it up.  Breck and Keystone definately don't have the gnarliest terrain but coming from the midwest, I think you'll still be pretty stoked on what summit county has to offer.  Plus march is our snowiest month.  Have a good trip man, shred it up!

But Keystone sucks cock.  Unless you want to ski only park.  And Breck, it has its spots, but its mostly just really flat.  Plus there is no snow in Colorado right now, I would say not a ton ever.  Your best bet is not here.

And if you go to powder mtn the canyons and park city are only like two hours away, and of course there is always snowbasin which is right acrsoss the valley
