Why does everyone like Afterbangs?

I just used a pair for the first time today and they just felt heavy and unresponsive. For their price they're good but compared to skis $100 or $200 more they dont feel great. Just wondering why everyone on ns seems to love them so much and if anyone actually likes them better than higher end park skis (armada ar6, moment reno jib, volki walls, dumonts, etc.)

every ski is different.  different people have different preferences for skis.  get one you like.  i hope you didn't buy it off the internet because ns talks so much about it and then found out you don't like it.

I have, unless you don't consider AR6s, Walls, Antidogmas, and THalls to be high end skis (and those are just the ones I've owned...I've ski plenty of other skis too).

And yes, they aren't the BEST ski to ski on...outside of the park, however that's not really what they're meant for, they're meant to destroy the park, and they do that VERY well. They are soft, but still have a solid feel on bigger jumps (50 ft is the biggest I've hit with them so far, but felt NO wash), and on rails...they absolutely kill it.

I already had read that it was very helpful but I was just wondering if people actually preferred afterbangs to a higher end ski. Like if money didn't matter would you still ride them over any other ski as a 100% park ski.

The thing is, everyone wants something different out of their skis - some people want a soft fat ski, some people want a stiff ski thats super durable, some people want a charging ski, some people want a ski that's gonna flow nicely.

It's hard to say, personally I like the ski - it's a bit soft for my liking, so I might have gotten the Chronic or Cryptonite instead, but I wanted to try it out so I went with the Afterbang instead. Is it the best ski money can buy, no, but it is a DAMN good park ski and it's not super expensive. For example some people spend $500 on a park ski that only lasts them a month, but with this ski you can destroy the park and urban just as well, but it doesn't cost nearly as much, that's one MAJOR reason why so many people like them.

A lot of people don't like them either for their performance or durability, and then a lot of people love them and say they are bombproof.  It's a hit or miss ski, and I think most people who have tried a lot of different types of skis aren't big fans.  Most people who love to just slide rails and do small jumps like them.

one of the reasons i love line skis is because they are very playful. yes they arent the best built and they arent the the best preforming out of the park. but theyre just plain fun to ski, ive skied ar6's head mojos rossis and k2's and they dont have the personality that my anthems or my cronics have. they all feel kinda boring compared to my lines.
