offset front zipper
id like a pocket inside for an ipod, and a series of loops to thread headphones through.
a bigger hood, that actually fits over helmets.

Pretty much hits the nail on the head. And you can find some nice tech outerwear. Arcteryx makes some nice outerwear like the Sidewinder SV and Alpha SV jackets. Patagonia has some nice stuff too.
