vague title, yes.  you are probably wondering what this thread is about...well, I have just wrapped up a thirteen track mash up album! it has taken me a solid six months.  anyways, i thought it would be quite appropriate to post it on NS so here you guys (and ladies) go!

P.S. i plan on making cds with the whole album cover, cd design ect. the plan was to sell them locally yet if any one wants to buy one, feel free to message me and we can work something out

I downloaded and. sorry to tell you, but you pretty much wasted 6 months of your life, there is no fuckin flow. Nothing stands out, too much going on. I pretty much DON'T like it. but others can like it or love it, I don't care. Sounds crappy in my ear.

rad man, i am currently working on a 4 track demo i know how it feels. and saying you play other instruments i would like to hear some of your work, other than mashups, i cant believe a mashup album took 6 months, they seem easy as fuck to make, but i havent made any so i cant really talk.

i haven't done many recordings of other instruments for i lack a interface but i could put something together, and it was six months, constant work, sometimes i wouldn't work on it at all for a month then come back, do some work, step away again, do some work ect.

I think the point of mash-ups are to rethink and hear some songs in a new, interesting perspective. Also another thing to add is that not all mash-ups are taking classic songs and trying to ruin them; sometimes it can be as simple (yet just as awesome) as integrating a new instrumental track (i hope that term is correct) to the untouched lyrics.




btw I am as big as a beatles fan you could meet (know pretty much everything about them), and this song does not in any way degrade or ruin "You Never Give Me Your Money" or "Mother Nature's Son".



As you see in this mash-up, Girl Talk creatively uses classic artists such as Pete Townshend, Roy Orbison, and Twisted Sister and combines them with modern hip-hop artists like UGK, Unk (i believe they made walk it out...), and Birdman/Lil' Wayne, and makes a damn good song out of it. I would like to see you do that.

Well sir, although mashups do not manage to tickle your fancy it still is a type of music therefore making it a way of art. Sure he could have started a band, and by now done some live shows and had "fun" but I'm also quite sure that he very much enjoyed mashing these songs as well. Yeah he took acapellas and instrumentals and worked with them in a music editing software but explain to me how he would've done so without using these artists music, after all the same goes for every mashup. I believe your mom is calling you though. Your name is asshole right?
