I just got a text message. Apparently CR hit his head on a rock while skiing Headwall (Squaw) this morning and has passed away. I will keep this thread updated with details as I get them.

Legendary skier CR Johnson has died. Squaw Valley has lost another legend in less than a year. Details are sketchy at this point, but according to a post on TGR from Scott Gaffney, Johnson tumbled down Light Towers at Squaw Valley. Johnson nearly died in 2005 and made an inspiring comeback from an induced coma. Johnson was forced to learn everything from swallowing to walking again.
Johnson was part of the newschool skiing movement, winning X Games bronze in superpipe in 2003. He appeared in numerous ski films, including Seven Sunny Days,Ski Movie III, and 2007's Believe.
CR Johnson was 26.
