CR Johnson has Passed Away

I just got a text message. Apparently CR hit his head on a rock while skiing Headwall (Squaw) this morning and has passed away. I will keep this thread updated with details as I get them.

better not be true... CR is a fuckin legend and a hero for the passion he portrayed for ours sport by coming back from his terrible injury.. RIP today is a horribly sad day for freeskiing

Again....to everyone...this is my thread: My best friend is a lifty at Squaw, the ski patrol just gave him this news. I will update this thread as I get information, if I get it. If anyone is in the Tahoe area and not busy please head over to Squaw and try to find out more details my buddy can't leave his booth

Damn this is so damn sad. Just last summer C.R. was telling me about how he was in the process of starting up his own outerwear company, how he had been studying design and whatnot. Such a cool guy to finally meet having seen him in so many sick movies and contests growing up as a kid. C.R. is a legend of the sport. I honestly don't even know what to say right now.

Unfortunately, it is very true. I just got off the phone w/my friend who patrols out at Squaw. He was on scene. He fell going down white chutes (?).

It's insane because I got a text early this morning during avy control that things were sliding left and right after the recent snow they've had.
