Does anyone have thoughts about the people on this forum? It seems to me that everyone on there are strictly powder riders. I'm pretty sure they would tell me I need at least a 190cm ski for riding park in the midwest. It's kind of funny. BTW I'm 5'7" and 130lbs.

I definitely think you should make a thread on TGR asking about park skis for the midwest. Post some pictures of yourself too so they can make an accurate assessment.

Yeah, they're all big mountain / pow riders who laugh at threads containing any ski less than 180cm. I left there and started up here. I think this site fits me better.

I am on both sites.

I ski about 65% pow/big mountain, 35% park.

I have:

178 Scott p3 - 2 pairs

So stop making overly inclusive assumptions about a website.

I post on there a lot more than I do here, I would post the quote but the boards seem to be down at the moment. In gear swap "read before selling" thread says that you shouldn't post anything for sale under 180cm and 90mm underfoot because its probably a waste of time.

On another note if there is powder to be had anywhere whether in the bc or at the resort they aren't going to be in the park. Only differences between them and NS'ers in gerneral is the Bc snow part and age.

Also they know a LOT about the sport and products that are produced(ie. see cody townsends early posts/thread about his new ski the El dicator)

they also have a competent understanding of the dangers of avvys, why not to duck ropes, etc.


i dont post a lot on TGR but i do read quite a bit.

some of them ride park on occasion. remember that most of the people that post on tgr are for the most part above the age of 30. now a lot of people here are probably less than 30. cater to different people of different ages. =

same here. I seem to be more of a TGR type os skier, but i still like it here better, i feel more welcome, maybe because i am younger

I realized what I was making was a broad generalization, but a fairly accurate one. I just realized that it is not the site for me. I'm not much of a forumer. They (in general) seem like a much older generation. Whatever, I've learned to keep away from that, I don't live out west.
