Curling pisses me off

Its on tv probably twice as much as any other Olympic event, and twice as gay as every other olympic event.  The worst part is that it looks really simple, but makes you feel like an idiot cuz i still have no idea whats going on after a full week of watching it. /rant

first off curling isnt gay. your gay for making this post and you are probably hoping a lot of people comment on it but there not going to. you want a thread to go over a couple pages but his one wont. it takes a lot of skill to do it. you have to curl the stone just right to get it to turn the way you want it. plus you have to have a very light touch and pretty good aim. but thats just my opinon on it.

i dont see whats to hate on it. besides hockey its the only sport i watch during the olympics. you probably rather watch ice dancing.

i tried curling for about a week in grade 9 gym class. It's way harder than you think it is. i would either throw it way too hard or it would only go half way down the ice. i think i got it in the outer circle once in the 5 days i tried.

not to say its a pointless game, because it obviously does take a bunch of practice and skill to get to be as precise as they are, but its just lame to see in the olympics.  curlers are good at what they do but they aren't necessarily 'athletes'.  Its saddening to see these guys in the olympics and athletes like pro pipe skiers not.  Its alot like turning on espn and seeing bowling or darts, you can respect their skill but that doesnt keep me from changing the channel.

i dont think its that bad. complicated??? are you serious? X rocks, T ends, team W gets points for every stone being closer than team Ls rocks, and youre pretty much set. any strategy is a direct result of this rules and not that hard to understand.

if you find something easier to watch, please go for it

I'm glad you changed your opinion.
I was at the curling event yesterday, watching canada against the us and there was definitely nothing "saddening" about it. so much atmosphere in the rink.
it's true that skiing belongs in the olympics, but so does curling.
