So Girl Talk is coming to my school this Saturday and i was wondering if I should drop $20 on a ticket. I mean yeah Girl Talk is a sick artist but I'm afraid that they would suck live and if that's the case, I really don't want to drop 20 bucks. So if anyone has been to this concert, please provide information.
saw him in pittsburgh over the summer. it was at an outdoor amphitheater with a shitload of people, so the energy was super high. but it was one of the best shows i've ever been to. these other people saying he sucks live must still be butthurt about being denied by every girl at the show.
Oh no no, its not your taste in music I'm laughing at, thats a completely subjective argument, and I try my best to respect others opinions, especially when it pertains to a subject as variable and vast as music. What I'm laughing at is the validity of your statement and your insistence upon a fact, while most arbitrary, is wrong and undermines the basis of your argument.
I really don't think you did. "They aren't DJs"? "They are a bunch of nobodies"? "Their CD"? Its okay, a lot of people who have never seen him live make this mistake.
if they play a full set with bomb ass speakers it is a great time to rave but that can be said about any band with good speakers. fuck, coal chamber would be dope bass for rolling you know.
they played a half set at keystone, it sucked. i was on way too much drugs and it wasnt even fun like the guy above previously said haha.
Yeah, the setup sounded alright, but stoke looked really fake and forced. he would push some buttons, dance around, push some more buttons, rinse and repeat. He is 'not a DJ' that's for sure, I have more respect for them than a mashup artist.
I saw Coheed the next day, and let me tell you, that was a good time.
girl talk came to WVU last semester and it ended up being a huge party/ mosh pit/ rave.. haha it was pretty fun/ insane.. there was a ton of chicks up on stage.. like you couldnt possibly fit any more ppl on that stage hahah.. and the whole floor was moving up and down so they had to stop the concert caus it got so rediculous.. i guess i would pay 20 bucks just caus it was a good time haha.. but it was free for us and i was hammered so idk..
I had such a good time the time I went, but you have to appreciate it for what it is: a hardcore moshpit party with hella girls going wild. He keeps the crowd energy super high and excited, so if you're not into a serious raging experience, don't go. If you wanna get crunk and dance your ass off, thus having an incredible time, go go go gogo.
Girl Talk sucks. The guy doesn't play any instruments, let alone DJ live. He just pushes the play button while a bunch of kids dance around, rolling their brains out in order to make it remotely pleasant.
If you're over 21 and you like funk/jazz, you could go see Galactic at the Nightlight if you want to actually hear some music...they're playing tonight.
