Armada AR6 or Volkl Walls?

I need new skis because my Line Invaders are beaten up. I need a ski that can carve on groomers because I'm a ski instructor, but on my days off I love to make laps in the park. So i need a ski that is solid on jumps and has a decent lightweight for rails. I've been looking at the Armada AR6 and I've heard they're good all around skis. Is this true? Also a friend of a friend said that he loves his Volkl Walls, but they're symmetrical. Are there any other skis that are good for what I'm looking for?

Yeah me too, but I haven't gotten the chance to get up there. I'll probably ask the people who work there because they get to test the skis so they will know what's good or bad.

This was one of the most asked questions all summer...which to get, AR6s or Walls.

I skied both of them last season, the AR6s were softer and more playful, but still held up well and had a sturdy feel, while the Walls were also very durable, they were stiffer, but they were symmetrical which made them easier to use center mounted (yes, I center mounted both of them).

The easiest way to pick between the two is this:
Volkl Wall if you want a symmetrical ski and you ski more rails than jumps
Armada AR6 is you want an asymmetrical ski/all mountain ski and you ski more jumps than rails

Both work great on jumps and rails, I just found the walls more fun on rails and the AR6s more fun on jumps.

Thanks, I'm probably going to look into the Armada AR6 because I need a ski that skis well on groomers for my job, but I love rails more than jumps so I guess I gotta pull out my old invaders when I ski rails. Thanks for the great advice.

You don't need your invaders for rails necessarily, the AR6s are still super nice on rails, I was just saying that between the two the Walls were better, mostly because they're symmetrical so they're more balanced.

Ow cool that's good to know. Do you know of any good bindings that are good for the AR6 or it doesn't really matter?

my ar6's are the shittt. i love em'     deff get the AR6's.  i have salomon bindings one mine. not sure what they are called but they are brown and green like army colors..

I'd say the lighter the better, while they aren't the heaviest park skis, they are on the heavier side, so putting something like a PX12 on them (which is what I did) makes them feel really heavy. It depends on what DIN you need, but I'd say go with a Marker Griffon(12 DIN)/Jester(16 DIN) or a Look/Rossi Pivot/FKS (same binding different company name) which come in 12, 14, 15, and 18 DIN bindings.

The Griffon will be the lightest, but the least durable, while the FKS is still pretty light, but SUPER durable.

NVM, i got mixed up, i have Salomon Z12 ti's on my ar6's... super light, and my STH 12's are on my other skis. no problems wiht either of the bindings.

after half of a season now (36 days skied on the ec plus many backyard sessions), ive rockered a tail and a tip, have a couple little pullouts, and a huge compressed edge with a base bubble. all of these damages were my fault, ill admit. i beat on them pretty hard, but they are decently durable considering how many dumb things i put them through. however, i have heard that armadas can either be really durable or not durable at all...

personally, i'd give walls a shot if you like a medium to stiff ski.
