i rode the lift with a gaper the other day - he turned around on the chair to look down/around and said with the most excitement i have ever heard "WOW what a beautiful view!!"
put things into perspective i suppose. its an 800 vert hill.
when you know at least 3 people in this thread.. /claim
when you can you can hit the same rail 25 times in an hour, with out hiking.
when your ski quiver consists or 3 pairs of skis. This years parks skis, the park skis you used last year, and the park skis you used the year before.
when you have to explain to people why its bad to walk on cheese graters with their rental skis still on their feet.
when you ski 45 days a season, yet never get a goggle tan.
When You try new flips on a land ing that is only half covered in ice and your hill is open to 10 and your tow rope let's you lap jumps 50 times in an hour.
haha this describes my ski career thus far perfectly. i used to know kids in the park strictly based on their skis, there would be like 10 kids who owned twin tips and you'd talk to all of them
You can't finish a song on your iPod in 1 run, even the short songs.
You blaze your own trails through the woods simply because it will take longer.
(Over christmas break, I actually did this one): You ski every run, every day, so after a week on the same mountain you get bored and decide to start doing every run switch.
At least one positive in the UP: while the people out west know of a snowstorm days in advance, the weather man tells you about lake effect snow storm that could dump somewhere between 1 and 15 inches, with about 5 hours warning.
And you know you must be in the midwest if you see a guy making a review like this
-Fleet Farm is the outdoor sports store supplying 90% of the outerwear on the hill.
-Somebody says 'those skis must be a new kind or something' referring to twin tips.
-The cat/groomer literally cannot make it up the jump landings because it is too icy.
-Most people pizza instead of french fry... they're gonna have a bad time
