Replying to So I learned to snowboard yesterday...
after ripping the heel piece off of my AR6s for the second time. Same ski, same bindings. Not even anything special just a three off of pretty decent sized jump, landed it fine just a little over rotated maybe and then all the sudden I was on the ground and my ski was flying past me. Anyone else have trouble with Armada cores? My bindngs are Jesters so it's not like the bindings are real cheap. I don't really know much about skis is this something I would be able to get covered under warranty if the skis are even still under warranty (they're last years). If not is there anything I can do to make them last the rest of the season? Like I said I did it twice so they've been stripped out 2.5 cm back from center, and now they've been stripped out at center (and I broke one of the screws this time so that's still in there).
Alright I know that should've been in gear talk, my bad but I didn't really feel like making another thread for it. Anyway so I learned to snowboard in the afternoon because I had paid for an all day ticket and didn't feel like wasting the rest of the day (i broke my skis at like 1). I have to admit, it was harder than I thought it would be. The first run was one of the most frustrating experiences I've had in a while. But after two or three hours I was doing diamonds little sketchy but I was at least linking turns and not heel edging the whole time. So I have to say, mad respect for snowboarders, snowboarding and all of it. It's harder than I thought and also a lot more fun than I thought. Once I got the hang of it I was really having a blast, made my shitty day a lot better.
Also, on the way home something I thought was funny/interesting. I got pulled over because I was falling asleep and swerving a little bit. Turns out the cop used to "freestyle ski" as he put it and had a pair of extremes haha I asked him if they knew they were making them again and he said yeah, "in the same ridiculously bright colors as when I had them back in the day." He was cool enough to let me go and just tell me to do him a favor and go and get another redbull for the rest of the drive home.
Damn that was long.
