Skis for a skinny kid?

I am 5'5 and Im only like 90 pounds and i need a sturdy light ski that will still flex with my small frame.  what is a ski that is 148-156 in size       thnx

you will get used to it quickly. it will maybe be weird for a few runs or a day but then it will just feel natural.

how old are you? because when I was in like middle school I would grow about 4 inches a year, so u may want to wait until September/October, unless of course ther is an absolutely killer deal

Man I was 5'3 last season too and I was riding 158s, so I'm sure 161s would be fine. I'm sure you already know this, but twin tips always ride a little shorter than normal skis, so it really isn't as long as you would think it is anyways, and you will definitely grow anyways.

I have some 157 Line Afterbangs that I liked a lot.  But they're way too small for me so they might be for sale.  Mounted with Salomon Z10 bindings.  Don't know if you want them but I liked them for park, I did some moguls and they were good for that, and I always skied fast.  They are also pretty flexy.  I was 110 pounds when I rode them.

 this past year i was 5 foot 5 inches, 110 pounds on a good day. i got 166 ar6's and they were over my head and i was freaking out thinking they were too big and too stiff...I actually made multiple threads on it seeing what i should do with the skis (i was a nag, ill be honest)

...turned out after the second time down the mountain, i loved them. they felt perfect. as the season went on, they started falling apart..i actually found myself wanting a stiffer ski. So i found a good deal on 161 suspects. They felt amazing and actually held up way better than my armadas so far. i liked the stiffness (no homo) ..but i liked the 166 length better.

moral of the story, sack the fuck up, and buy some skis that actually fit. for you, buy some 161 atomic punx. they'd be perfect. dont buy some kiddy ski, they arent made as well (not up to par with durability of "adult" skis) .

youll probably start to grow some too, so dont be afraid of the 161!

Honestly its incredibly gay when kids ride tiny skis. You could easily ski a 170. I'm 5'9 and I ride 190s so stop being a pussy and get big skis

Oh yeah just thought I'd add something... I'm also pretty skinny (5'6/5'7 and weighing only about 115lbs) and 4 skis that look like they might be good for a skinny kid are:

Liberty LTE
Armada AR7
Atomic Punx
Moment Reno Jib


I know '11 Reno Jibs are supposed to be softer than previous years, and I heard Punx are pretty soft, but I have no idea about the flex on the AR7 OR the LTE. All I know is that they're supposed to be relatively similar skis.


Maybe somebody else can put some input in.

I would definitely go with at least a 160, like they said above. Also, I'm  5'1, 105 pounds, and I rode 169 ledges and I could still flex them real nice. I haven't ridden the Invaders, but to me the ledges were buttery, nice and soft, and decently light.
