Where should i go?

i have a few wood and pvc rails in my back yard ut i want to have metal one....where would be the best place to find good metal to build rails out of

find a welding shop and knock on the door and ask nicely if they have scrap metal and they will usually give you some peices you can make into something. if not try a local hardware store.
