Pretty self explanatory. Can you use the clicky remote on the Icon 2's to control the new shuffles? It works with the Classic i know, and the iphone.

Sorry I don't know, but I think that is the stupidest design for those shuffles. Like seriously if you don't like those stupid ipod headphones your screwed. Well this was useless post, hopefully you can get an answer though.

well you can buy an adapter. but im wondering if you dont need the adapter because the icon 2's have a remote on em.

idk for sure i havent tried that combo but i would assume that the single button on the icon 2s would control the main button on the shuffle (track changing, fast forward/rewind, track info) so you couldn't control the volume of the ipod....with the 1 button on the icons theres no way ur gonna be able to adjust everything

I dunno if you own one or got one as a gift, but why would you buy it if it's so dumb? I agree that the current shuffles are pretty stupid

Ah, I gotcha. For some reason, I thought you owned one and you were freaking out at the fact that your icons wouldn't work with it. The previous shuffle design is so legit. It fits perfectly on my belt loop, it's cheap, and I can actually control it

why don't you go to an apple store with your icons and plug it into one of the shuffles on display. If it works then you will have the answer to your question.
