DR.NS Ripped off nail

Has anyone ever ripped a nail off? I smashed my thumb real bad awhile back and finally got all the blood to drain out and then i noticed the nail was all loose. Then yesterday it got caught on my jeans and ripped completely off. How long does it take for one to grow back and is there anything i should know?

i stubbed my toe really fucking hard when i was a kid and the nail fell off, i forgot how long it took to grow back but i don't think it was very long, i mean i think they grow at whatever rate your nails usually grow before you clip them.

I ripped my big toe nail off once and my pinky toe nail off once. Just keep putting Vaseline on it and a bandied. It'll be back in a few weeks

I was once peeling my toenails and actually ripped the entire nail off my middle toe. It was really weird cause it didn't hurt even though I thought it was still connected. It'll grow back fine though, maybe a month till its full length

that sucks man. I had really bad toe bang last year. A new toe nail grew under the broken one and there wasn't much pain, except for ripping the old one off with my sock by accident. Just put a band aid over it and let the nail grow back

my dad dropped a huge sheet of plywood (think dorm loft size, the thick stuff) on my toe and the nail fell off...that bitch took over a year to grow back

i lose my left big toenail every ski season, usually in february. typically grows back fully by july or august. just keep it covered till the opening at the bottom (where the nail attaches to the finger) heals up and you'll be fine

mine fell off after i slammed it in a car door and it was about 2 months after the day that i injured it until a new nail had completely grown back

it will just take a little bit of time to grow back. probably be a little soft at first and quite tender. but it should eventually be back to somewhat normal. back when i used to do gymnastics i had the vault dropped on my finger while we were moving it, the nail didnt stay much longer...

nice.... i usually lose the toenail on my right big toe once or twice a season. I've never had any problems with it growing back, save for the tenderness of the unprotected toe flesh. That said, a friend of mine used to have the same problems with his rollerblades and it led to him getting ingrown toenails, which suck and hurt like not getting laid by your prom date.

I had an infected toe nail once and when it came off it didn't hurt at all!!! I was soo happy!
