GoPro Skiing Settings

Quick question, since I have basically no time to figure this out myself since I'm about to use the cam tomorrow

For skiing, should I have my GoPro set at 720p (1280x720) 60 fps mode?

I believe when I use my hv30 and put it in premiere, we film in 1920x1280 HDV and then we do resizing or whatever and it comes out in 1280x720. It's been so long since i first started doing that i can't really remember what we do. The thing is though, this gopro footy will be combined with hv30 footy.

The problem with the gopro when we test filmed in 1920x1280 full HD is that it's only 30 fps so the footage looks terrible and would look terrible for skiing.

Sorry if i sound like a noob but i've never been good at this stuff. I'm just concerned if we film in 720p that we'll have to do weird resizing and stuff and the footage will look like crap.

Setting 4 (960) with the chest mount produced the best vids that we took on our trip to Jay.

Join the Go Pro cult. Some good info there. Also Setting 4 is probably your best bet.

wow that is one sick vid

as far as the settings i would go for the highest frame rate you can have because that would make the smoothest video even if you are mixing it with video that is at a slower fps

Aight thanks to everyone so far, but since i'm in such a crunch for time and i can figure out the editing and stuff later, i'll just need an answer to this.

If i film in 1280x720 60fps mode, will that be good footage combined with my other hv30 footage that will be shot in (i think) 1920x1280 and exported to 1280x720? technically it sounds like it should but when i put the 1280x720 footy in adobe premiere, it's too small

so technically, filming in gopro's r1 HD mode aka 1920x1280 would be the bes,t and work perfectly with my hdv hv30 footage, but that mode is not good for the movements of skiing, so i need the second best mode that will work well with the hv30's 1920x1280 footage (which i do export as 1280x720 in the end)

my threads for later.  I have used everything, I like 960 and 720 @ 60fps the best.

I use r4 which I think is 960 at 60fps. It works pretty good for me. If you want some example footy go to my prof I have a video made completely from the GoPro Helmet HD.
