After my last thread was so conveniently deleted because I promised karma for swing votes, I would like to say that I will not give you any karma for voting for my friends.

Heres the deal, one of my friends that I work with is getting married soon. Both of the two are young and do not have a lot of money. They have entered a contest in which they could win $100,000 for a wedding. The contest is public voting, and they only need to be in the top 50. I think we can get them into this and would love it if you take the time to register and vote for the couple. I did, and it honestly took me 2 minutes tops. So please help out this couple get the wedding of lifetime. Do it for the karma that I wont be giving out!

I find it annoying to have the NSG clogged with contest sways, and karma should be doled out for quality posts and contributions, not the for serving your self satisfying goals.

Besides, he made a promise, I just decided to keep him honest.

To be fair the OP is not trying to gain anything for himself rather help some friends. Secondly I thought the role of a moderator was to enforce forum rules not delete threads/ban members due to annoyances/personal grievances. I mean common even Bishop has posted a "sway this contest" thread.

And the karma system has never really been all that great to begin with, and NSG is plagued by far more meaningless/pointless threads as of late.

However since I am not a mod I don't know how everything works and of course there is the difference in the interpretation of the rules so hold him to his promise if you see fit I guess.
