In case you missed it, Lindsey Jacobellis put together another epic fail at the finals of the Olympic Boardercross. Ok, so maybe it wasn’t nearly as big of a fail as having a five second lead and throwing a method and eating shit, BUT, a failure nonetheless.
This afternoon one of my friends brought up a pretty interesting valid point. Lindsey Jacobellis’ fame is actually infamy derived from her epic failure. To prove the point, ask yourself who WON the 2006 Women’s boardercross? Who won the 2002 Olympic boardercross? Exactly…you gotta Google that shit. (Tanja Frieden from Switzerland, just FYI)
Looking back at the last four years,
Lindsey handled the press wonderfully. She never came off as being a
cocky show-off, but rather just a girl out there having a good time.
She managed to get a lot of empathy from her fans, and consequentially
had even more followers rooting her on for success in this Olympics. Read on
