Which mountains got deep pow

So me and my dad just got hear in utah on a ski trip and we just skied half a day at The Canyons and it was sick but under the pow it was really crusty so we where wondering what would be the best mountains to go get some deep pow. We were thinking about alta, snowbird, Park city, or any other mt u guys reccomened. Thanks and it would be helpful to no by tommarow.

powder mountain is pretty big i hear.

alta and snowbird are good, but since i am going there flyin out in 9 days i am obligated to tell you those places suck, and you shouldn't track out any snow there.

in all honesty my 4 ski day trip will probably be spent at powder mountain (haven''t been there, it sounds huge, and less busy), alta, snowbird.....and I will probably go to a park city resort (not sure which one, maybe deer valley...hell people say the place doesn't get tracked out). and I also have heard there are $15 cat rides to the top of some pretty good terrain at powder mountain as well so I might be encouraged to check that out when I am out there. because a cat ride anywhere else puts you in triple digit prices. don't forget night skiing at brighton also if you want some skiing at night.

i can't wait to see what the coverage is like at the end of feb vs. end of december.

have fun though. i think mineral basin / road to provo (at snowbird) is one of the top 10 moment for of my trip out in utah in terms of finding bowls (at the time full of powder) with just tons of great powder.

brighton and solitude, untracked if you know where to look but still good always dont go to the canyons or pc for pow.

right now no resort has deep pow...go to alta or snowbasin if it is clear and not socked in. If we get snow check skiutah.com and go wherever has the most snow the resorts will get tracked out in a half day

Aspect N facing skiing a lot better right now. Another obvious tip the more energy you need to exert to get to somewhere the less tracks are gonna be in it.

just spent over a week in UT and skiied mostly alta. really good snow, especially now since it's going to be snowing for the next week.

alta has deep ass pow but it gets skied out so quick because of all those Powder Hounds but i love alta and am so happy to have a season pass there

from my experiences alta doesn't get skied out THAT quick. that being said, i haven't been there on a hugeee day, but skied there when it's above average definitely. i like the terrain and the vibe the best, snowbird is good too for obvious reasons, also check out snowbasin if you get some new snow and its somewhat bluebird a day or two after a storm.

i liked snowbird a lot, more than alta maybe until someone brought up a lot of the bird can be closed for avy control in the morn and as the spots open up they are tracked out in no time.

even the first/second week of January i was playing fucking rock dodge. WTF? haha

If i have the means (a car) Powder Mtn is definitely on my list when im gonna be there in a month (fingers crossed)

there are some although not many stand out... jans and cole sports are at the base of pcmr ...white pine has some at gear but is $$$....its park city. What are you looking for or what do you want done(tune??)

yeah but there's a lot to be said about no snowboarders. i didn't think much of it or appreciate it until i visited other resorts and realized that snowboarders do have a big difference on the vibe and conditions almost on the hill

the vibe? snowboarders arent allowed at alta because its a resort full of traversing. and altabird do get tracked very quickly. i'm over lcc, shoulda sent the brighton pass this year.

^Go out west anywhere and you're going to be traversing a lot. Not just at Alta. Alta has a lot of history behind it, and part of it is no snowboarding, it's not just because there's a lot of traversing. And yes, when you're at a skier's mountain the feel or vibe of it is definitely different.

you read one too many travel brochures homie. don't get me wrong i love alta, its the only place i have a pass to this year, but the fact that theres no snowboarders really has nothing to do with it. boarders or not mountains are always gonna have beaters, i don't really get where you're coming from grouping an entire group of people together like that. leave hating on snowboarders to the 80 year old alta loc dogs they do it enough already. and alta does have a lot more areas accessible by traversing than other mountains.

Too many travel brochures? Hating on snowboarders? I'm not hating on anyone, I'm just saying a mountain definitely has a different feel with no snowboarders there, a vibe which I like, maybe you don't. And if I'm at a mountain with 80 year olds on salomon guns, I could give two shits. More lines for me. For me, I like alta, not super expensive, pretty simple place.

If I wanted to get fresh pow at a resort right now I'd go to park city and hike up pine cone ridge.

i was at park city tofay and i found some really nice pow in the gladed trees. It was like 10 min of fresh pow in the trees
