im guessing most people havent seen bobby browns switch double misty 1440.

i agree, but you're completely wrong

i think bobby's trick is better, but a TON of people have heard about it

i could name a plethora of kids at my school who A) don't ski and B) don't know anything about skiing who came up to me and were like "ZOMGZZZ, did you see that bobby brown guy? he was on tv skiing doing a switch double 14!"

False. Bobby Brown is better at skiing. Shaun White is better at snowboarding. Brown is better at slopestyle and big air skiing, whereas White is better at pipe. Not only did you get the sport wrong, you also got the disciplines within each sport wrong. Good post, fuckwad.

My diving coach who snowboards and doesn't know a single thing about freeskiing (hes 50+) asked me about jossi wells the other day. apparently thats what some people got from the xgames about skiing. Jossi is a cool guy and he definitely threw down so not a bad thing.

Good find on that article. I can't believe it appeared on Yahoo. Occasionally it's funny when sports writers write about sports which they know nothing about, but that could have barely passed in an below-average high school newspaper sports column.

get over it. why is he important? because he's good or he was good and he revolutionized snowboarding in a lot of ways. why do you people spend so much time getting worked up about how a skier is better than a snowboarder. you know what, we already know what you think because you picked skiing. good, you love it, now why don't you go get better at it so you can be better at something than shaun white before you post another hater thread about your panties being in a twist.

See last year I would agree with this thread. But this year... Not so much. Last year skiers were bringin dub corks to the table while snowboarders weren't doing anything. Also last year I felt Shaun was definitely brown nosed for sure. But 3 dub flips in the pipe is definitely not easy. Bobby's trick is not easy either. They are two completely different sports so keep them separate. Freeskiing in the Olympics would just flat out suck, I don't want it to be in the Olympics personally.

On another note. Who here thought Loise got underscored? His run was dope.

The truth of the matter is that it is a disgrace that skiing halfpipe is not in the olympics.  Watching the girls snowboard halfpipe last night was pitiful.  They totally sucked.  WTF is skiing halfpipe NOT in the Olympics.  The IOC are some messed up people.

Hey how bout this.....who gives a fuck, thier both really good, im not hating on any of you, but theres already alot of threads on the topic of "shuan white isnt that good" or "he dosent deserve gold." He IS good, lays down crazy runs so clean, he is definetly not on my favorite rider list by far but you cannot say he isnt good. And Bobby Browns trick was insane, indeed, i believe the 2 tricks are about the same, but BB's trick was just on an epic stage, stomped it clean on an epic/fun night of skiing.            And the jesus facepalm is amazing^

I am a bigger fan of B. Brown then Mr. White, in fact I think don't like Mr. White at all, but anyone who thinks any skier is as good as Shaun is wrong.  He's won 14 X-Games medals, winter AND summer dew cups, is 2/2 with olympic golds, and has won numerous other contests. He's 23 and has been PRO for 10 years.  He is on a level that few, if anyone else, in any sport in the world is on.  He has tricks in snowboarding AND skate boarding that no one else has ever done in contests (or at all?). 

Mad respect to B Brown, but I don't think you're living in the real world if you can't admit how amazing Shaun White is as an athlete, regardless of how much you like him in real life.

and I really think Shaun White need to stop acting all suprised when he wins pipe contests. a simple wave of the hand "thank you" style would suffice. watching him freak out like a fat kid when the ice cream truck rolls into the hood pisses me off.

They had back to back 9s, switch backside 7, every single rider spinning both ways and switch, grabbing their spins, etc. I don't know what you are comparing it with, but girls ski pipe is nowhere close to that yet.

it's the Olympics and more people watch the olympics then xgames. if bobby could do is switch dub misty 1440 in the olympics he would be the most famous guy in skiing. plus Shaun makes several million dollars a year

come on, if you can't recognize that shaun white is the man and is one extremely talented athlete. but then the saying 'hatred is something that success has always generated' (or maybe thats from a song) comes into play here.

to me it just seems that the freeski community is jealous that shaun white is a snowboarder not a skier and there is no one of his calibre in skiing.

I LOL'd at this. Personnally I think White is the best in snowboarding. I don't like him, but I'll say that. I try not to focus on huge pros though. My favorite would have to be Kaj Zackrisson. He is just happy to be skiing no matter what. this might be off topic, but what the hell.
