They should really start to spin both ways, it would add sucha big level of difficutly. Just imagine a left quad into a right triple. Judges would shit.

the should go upside down. might sounds unrealistic but you see how high they can boost, if someone went upside down in any way that would be mad fuckin awesome.

Phillipe Candeloro did backflips, and was always innovating but alot of his moves got banned (like spinning on his knees).

can you imagine if skier afterbanged like that with they're arms out wide open and everything like that? hahaha imagine henrik doing that in a tall tee after a double cork

Flips would be cool but figure skating is more about flow. You can't throw a backflip and make it look as smooth as a triple axle

Amateur level skaters, the people who compete in the olympics, are not allowed to do flips, but once you are a pro you can. Scott Hamilton throws them to this day and he is in his 50's.

The backflip is considered an illegal figure skating move. It can be done in exhibitions and in professional ice skating competitions, but the backflip will not receive credit and a skater will receive deductions (or be disqualified) if the move is performed in eligible figure skating competitions.

That's why people who can do it like Candalero (5 posts above), only do it in exhibiton gala's.

I've seen someone do a backflip on ice skates *claim*
