Find My Ski

I'm trying to find a ski that fits my needs but can't seem to find one. I'm 5'9, 150lbs and ski 75% park and 25% Pow/Everything else, but i want to start skiing a lot more pow.

What i'm looking for in a ski:

*Soft to Medium flex
*Rockered
*From 93-115 underfoot
*Between 171 and 185
*A fun playful ski that i can progress in pow, but still have lots of fun in the park

Skis that ive looked into:

*Moment Reno Rocker (Kinda want something a little wider underfoot than 93)
*Armada Alpha 2 (Don't know very much about these)
*Surface One Life (Heard it is really stiff)
*K2 Domain (Still waiting to learn more about this ski)
*Line Elizabeth (Doesn't have rocker)

What would be my perfect ski would be Surface One Lifes but a soft version of them.

The K2 kung fujas seems like it would be a good ski for what your looking for. I got to ride them last year and they were super fun. They are a soft-medium flex i believe and the dimensions are 125-95-120 and they're rockered.


Line blends could also be a possible choice. they are a pretty perfect one ski quiver. dimensions are 132-100-122. They are not rockered but whenever i hear "one-ski-quiver" i think blend or kungs.


The Reno Rocker is a sick ski. my best friend has a pair and they are really fun and poppy but like you said probably a little narrow for what your looking for. I don't really know much about the Alpha 2s, the One Lifes or the Domains, sorry. i do know the lizzys are a sick ski. got to spend a day on them and they are really really fun. they turn pretty easily and are very playful. another great one-ski quiver.


If your on the EC i'd go with the blends, kungs or lizzys. If your anywhere that gets more than a foot on any given day i'd go with the lizzys.

alpha 2s are too skinny for what you want

Reno rockers kinda suck in pow (i have them)

this years Kung Fujas wouldnt be too bad of a choice. 95 underfoot, rockered, decent all mountain and park performance too.

I'd go with a surface one life personally. They absolutely slay the pow! Sooo surfy, but if youre concerned about how stiff they are the rocker definitely makes them playful and buttery still. Such a dope one ski quiver

this. but i would say they are a medium-stiff flex. its probably because i got them one size longer because of the rocker. but overall, phenomenal ski

Yeah the moment reno rockers sound really good but the 10/11 line blends look sick too

Yeah if i already has some pow sticks i would get the rockers but i really want something that's gonna perform well in pow. Anyone know how blends are in the park?

reno rockers are sick i broke my afterbangs this season and had been looking at the rockers for a long time. i finally got the chance to demo some and had such a good time on them

Just watched the video on next years Line blends and really like them. Either getting those or the One Lifes. Anyone know how much rocker is on the blends?

^I hate blends, and every Line video makes the ski look good.

I'd say One Lifes.  They are stiff but ski short and butter super easily, and ski pow great.  Durable too, and light.  you're big enough for the 189s for sure(179s only lose 10cm of effective edge, so get 189s!).  They're way more versatile than any other pow jib ski I've been on.

96 mm waist...rocker... and you can request a really soft flex i believe.

i got them with a medium flex so i can still tear up some nastyyy stuff.

from what others have told me, they are beautifuly crafted skis...im so excited

idk about one lives...but ive seen a pair of nine lives with its edges blown out alllllllll over the place.

may have been a lemon of a ski...but it still makes you question the skis durability

Bumping this thread cause i have no clue what to do. Thought i had it figured out but i guess not. Ok so i have some invaders right now but they are pretty beat up. I could probably make it through another season with them but i don't know. So i want another ski that's gonna be used for mostly pow but might turn into an everyday ski if i like skiing in the park. If not ill just ski my invaders.

So i'm looking for a flexy fun ski preferably rockered for pow. Wider than 100 underfoot for better flotation. I was thinking EP pros and then buy afterbangs for my park days? If i don't have enough money for afterbangs then ill just ski my trashed invaders since park skis get beat up anyways. Any opinions? Thanks

Kinda hard to turn a really good pow ski into an everyday ski, unless you love fatties. If so, Caylor it, stiffness and our construction make them pretty enjoyable on groomers for huge powder jib boards.

Still havn't decided. So ill revise what i am looking for and see if anyone can help me out.

I want to ski 50% pow and 50% park

Here's what im looking for in a ski
*Rockered
*95 underfoot and up
*Either cover rail damage in warranty or be able to buy from BC.com
*Softer flex to medium flex

^The only problem with those is that ON3P doesn't cover rail damage, and i am going to be skiing a lot of rails.

Not a single company will cover rail damage to my knowledge. Shops and online retailers may say they do, but commonly "Full Warranty" usually excludes any rock or rail.

Just talked to someone at BC and they said their "Full Unlimited Warranty" covers rail damage and everything else.

I think the point of what he was saying was that while retailers, like bc.com, might offer this, no ski company does.

BC.com is weird because you can buy any product, skis, boots, jacket, and use it for like a year then return it for a full refund/etc.  I definitely know people who abuse this policy.

There is just no way ski companies, especially small, USA-made ski companies whose margins are extremely small, could warranty rail damage because after enough rail use, every single ski out there will eventually suffer serious rail damage to the point of needing to be replaced.  It would put them out of business if they had to warranty every park ski they made, which is a reality of park skis.  Edges are not designed to stand up to that kind of abuse and builders do whatever they can to minimize the damage (for example, ON3P use a 2.5mm wide x 1.7mm thick edges, which is 30% thicker than the standard edge material, giving you more edge to wear down before you run into issues, but even so, after enough rail use, anyone will wear through those edges), but we just cannot justify warrantying skis for something there is nothing we can do to permanently prevent. 

It is not a flaw in our construction or manufacturing, which is generally what a warranty is meant to cover.  It is in the same realm of not covered core shots, etc, stuff that unfortunately skis are exposed to but is something we can only mitigate, not prevent.

Yeah i totally understand why ski company's can not offer warranty when the skis are going to be used on rails. I am not going to abuse their warranty policy i just want to make sure that if i buy a ski and it happens to break or whatever that i have the option to warranty. Being that i have a small budget i can't afford to buy another pair of skis because mine broke.

Since i can't find a ski that's gonna be really good in park and pow i think i am just gonna lean towards a park ski that is better in pow. How are alpha 1/2?s Or moment rockers? Which is softer? Also which has more rocker?
