I have a pair of rossignol axial 1's scratch 100's i beleive the brake width now is 80mm do you think i could bend them over the rossignol s6 which is 110 underfoot??
You might be better off to find another replacement brake cause that a lot of bending and probably will not do the best at stopping your ski when it comes off.
I'm not sure how the hell the sidewall...whatever, it doesn't matter. People bend 75mm FKS brakes out to like 130mm without drastically affecting stopping performance. I wouldn't worry about it.
The sidewall can be a key feature. The s6 features a 30 degree sidewall plus its a pretty thick sidewall meaning its gunna take more brake to touch the ground. So bending a 80mm break to 110mm with this sorta sidewall structure is gunna affect the stopping performance of the ski.
I know the thickness of the ski makes a difference in the effective brake length, but I just don't see how the sidewall's "shape" would make any difference. It doesn't really matter though because he is only shortening each break arm by about a half inch. They will still perform as they were designed to.
