Portable hard drives. +K possibility

Which of these two hard drives would be better?
 
LaCie Rugged All-Terrain 500 GB USB 2.0 Portable External Hard Drive 301370

 or

 LaCie Rugged All-Terrain 500 GB USB 2.0/FireWire 400/800 Portable External Hard Drive 301371

 

I wasn't to sure of the differences, any one better then the other?

the second one will transfer faster.  do you know if you have a firewire port?  its almost the same size as usb, but one side is....  i forgot the term, so we'll go with half a stop sign

pretty basic. do you have firewire? get the firewire if so

if you do not have firewire, do not purchase the one with said firewire.

firewire for sure. the transfer rates with firewire are SOOOOO much faster. your not gonna know if you get the USB but once you go firewire you never go back.

Firewire= FIRE HOSE OF INFO
USB= garden hose of info
