it's not about shaun white at all. it's just saying that the olympics has little to do with actual sport and more to do with making money under the pretense of an athletic competition. the athletes aren't aware of this, and people behind the scenes are making bank.

I can't believe someone even felt the need to make this. We don't need this kind of politics or press in the industry. You think people (shaun included) got into professional riding in order to make shit loads of money? Hell no. They would be doing this even if the prizes for comps were 10 bucks and a snack pack. As much as I hate corporate sponsorship, imagine all the things its allowed are sports to do. DEW tour, X-Games. Without corporate sponsorhip (and Jon Olsson.) there would be no big comps. What would happen to progression then? I hate to say it, but we should be greatful for the little support we do get from these companies.

its american big buisness exploiting something that was not intedended to be this way. what the fuck does target have to do with snowboarding or skiing? abousolutly nothing. except the fact they sponsor shaun white and simon dumont. its a fucking department/grocery store.
and as big as jon olsson is in the skiing world and europe in the average US household they have no fucking clue who he is. where as shaun white they do,
skiing/snowboarding is about getting up early and shredding pow. or doing endless laps in the park, or getting that shot on film down the trip kink handrail. it isnt about making money it isnt about competing against fellow skiers and snowboarders.
and why shouldnt someone feel the need to make this? in stead of writing or talking about it they painted it. i think its pretty awesome personally and im sure tons of other people feel the same.
