JD/MBA joint degree program

I'm not sure how many other schools offer this, but I am applying for the joint degree program at Seattle U for my Juris Doctor and Masters of Business Admin. I know there are some older NSers on here who have grad degrees and I was wondering if this might be taking off a bite to big to chew? The program last 4 years and while my original intent was just law school alone, I do want to practice business law so I think this could be a worthy pursuit. I know one's life pretty much ends in grad school alone, but any input on experiences would be appreciated. Also has anyone taken the GMAT? I have the LSAT all taken care of, but this is one more test I would now have to take and I do not know too much about it and how much time to prepare is appropriate. Thanks!

I just applied for it last night at UCI, Utah, BYU, and a few others applications are going in this week

The GMAT isn't a hard test. If you took the LSATs and did well on them then you have 2/3 of the verbal section taken care of. It depends what score you want and how good your practice scores are. If you're smart a couple weeks of studying should do. An MBA really doesn't help you that much compared to the money and time you put into it unless it's from a top school, so take that into account.

Thanks for a great response! I majored in Political Science with minors in History and Econ and do pretty well in math. Business law is what I am currently aiming at, so I think the combination would be beneficial, but you bring up a good point in regards to if that desire will remain once introduced to the various directions possible. You can also apply for the joint program up until the end of your first year of law school, so perhaps holding off would be a wise decision. Thanks for the input though I will take it into consideration.

My way. My way dates back to the 1500's. My way originates in law, something you are apparently interested in. The other way dates back to 1999 when the more ignorant arts students started watching 'The West Wing' and universally became the greatest legal minds ever to grace the stage of arguing-whilst-speaking-to-create-an-illusion-of-progress.

On another note, anything that helps create a super-human image will benefit you in a job-market super-saturated with academic qualification. And yeah, I just used super twice in a sentence.
